Introduction: cervical cancer is a multifactorial disease that generally develops in the transformation zone of the squamo-columnar junction of the uterine cervix, from precursor lesions after infection by the human papillomavirus, in the presence of other cofactors: genetic, environmental. Objective: to carry out a review of cervical lesions and their incidence in the Ciro Redondo Garcia Hospital of Artemisa. Method: a descriptive, cross-sectional study was executed in the period from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020, at the General Teaching Hospital Ciro Redondo García, Artemisa province. The universe constituted all the biopsies processed in the department of Pathological Anatomy of the Hospital, in that period, which contained the results of cytology and colposcopy of the neck pathology consultation for a total of 6664 and the sample included all the patients who presented premalignant and malignant lesions of the cervix to which the three methods were performed for a total of 328 cases. The following variables were considered for this study: age, cytology, colposcopy and histology. Results: The age groups with the highest incidence of lesions were between 21 and 50 years and in all diagnostic methods low-grade lesions predominated, followed by high-grade lesions, also few carcinomas in situ and invasive carcinomas were found. Conclusions: Cervical cancer is a health problem. When its precursor lesions are diagnosed early we can prevent the progression of the disease.Downloads
